After the Hoodud cyclone, the city has allocated 40% of the GVMC electricity generated by LED street lights. The proposals are aimed at boosting production, with a significant focus on the latest solar power generation. Nine MW solar power generation, which is already part of the SmartCity project, is being set up to finalize the tenders for the next three MW solar power generation. In the Smartcity project, Rs 58 crore will be spent on the power generation of nine MW. The newly proposed solar panels on the Mehradigade reservoir have been proposed to generate three megawatts of electricity and report accordingly. Officials claim that the solar panels floating on water will be beneficial in many aspects of the quality of electricity produced.
