SUPREME COURT VERDICT ON THE CENSURE MOTION

New Delhi, May 7, (way2newstv.in):
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has been accused of censorship. The Congress party challenged Raja Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu's denial of censure notice on CJI. The Rajya Sabha MPs Pratap Singh Bhajwah (Punjab) and Ami Harshad Yazniq (Gujarat) filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging Venkiah Naidu's decision on Monday (May 7). The petition asked the Supreme Court to intervene on the issue and that the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha did not act in accordance with the provisions of the matter. This led to a rare case of Supreme Court's decision to impose a judgment on its Chief Justice. Last month, the Rajya Sabha Chairman submitted a notice to 60 MPs from 7 parties seeking censure of CJI.

SUPREME COURT VERDICT ON THE CENSURE MOTION

The issue turned political after the four Supreme Court judges held the first meeting to protest against the CJI Deepak Mishra's decision to form the benches, allocation of cases and roster policy. Consequently, the Congress party was determined to censor the CJI. However, Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu, who had rejected these notices, has been shifted to the party. This fact has become a hot topic once the Congress is upheld by the Supreme Court of India. The petitioners said that the chairperson of the opposition did not consider the notice issued by the Opposition MPs seeking censure of the CJI and that the Vice Chairperson would have the authority to reject the notices in accordance with the provisions of the CJI. The Supreme Court has asked to intervene. It is interesting how the Supreme Court of India will deal with this petition.
