BY 2022, FARMERS INCOME IS INCREASE: MINISTER SOMI REDDY INTRODUCED THE AGRICULTURE BUDGET

Agriculture Minister Somi Reddy Chandramohan Reddy today introduced the agriculture budget for the year 2018-19 in the Legislative Assembly. Chandramohan Reddy said that the government's target was to double the farmers' revenue by 2022. In the second half of the year, we have achieved a growth of 24.5 percent. The growth rate of the state is 14 percent compared to the national level. Rabi has low rainfall of 42 percent and the Rice yield has decreased slightly to 5,176 kg per hectare. Andhra Pradesh is the second largest producer of maize in the country and third in rice production. The Minister said the road to the last phase of the rabi crop was evolved as the preliminary water released by Pattiseema made possible the productivity. After division, Nagarjuna Sagar has only 132 Tmcs of state water share. It has been revealed that micro-nutrients are distributed to farmers by a hundred percent subsidy. Aadhar connectivity is being implemented for quality seed supplies. The state has been awarded nationally for transparency in seed supplies. Seedlings were distributed with 90 percent subsidy. It is the first mega seed park in the country to set up the International Seed Research Center in Kurnool District. The agritech demonstrated to farmers the need for new technologies.

·         Rs.2,346 crores  loan to farmers

·         The grant of Rs.2.5 lakhs subsidy under the farmer charter scheme

·         Incentives for the creation of agricultural based industries

·         Every eligible farmer has implemented loan mobilization

·         Provide awareness to farmers on best technological management practices

·         Focus on agricultural mechanization to achieve high productivity
