Fuel prices have gone up in the country. Specifically, the petrol price went up to four-and-a-half times. This is the first time that petrol prices have risen since the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gained power in the Center. Likewise, diesel price has risen to Rs 63.20 per liter. The oil ministry has asked the Center to cut excise duty on fuel. Petrol price hiked to Rs 72.38 a liter in capital Delhi. Petrol prices have risen by Rs 3.31 a liter from mid-December.

 This is the highest level since March 2014. The petrol price in Mumbai has already reached the highest level of Rs 80 per liter while the diesel price has risen to Rs 67.30 per liter. Brent crude for February delivery was down 69 cents to $ 68.53 a barrel on Friday, with a liter of petrol at 15 paise higher at $ 68.84 a dollar. In Hyderabad, petrol price rose 16 paise to Rs 76.49 and diesel by 20 paise to Rs68.46. Lt.
