RAMADAN GIFTS BY MAY 20TH

The state government distributes clothing to poor Muslims every year during the Ramadan festival. The Telangana Minority Welfare Department has decided to distribute four lakh gift packs for the annual Ramzan festival. The meeting decided to distribute Ramadan festive gift packs to 800 mosques in the state this year. The outfits were created by the Telangana Handloom and Weavers Co-Operative Society (TSCO) and suggested to the authorities to prepare for delivery on May 20th. The KCR has recently decided to increase the financial assistance provided by the government under the Shadimabarak Scheme for poor Muslim girls from Rs 75,116 to Rs 1,00,116, the increase will be applicable only to applicants from April 1, 2018. The government has allocated Rs 2,000 crores for the welfare of minorities in the financial year 2018-19, from which Rs 496.77 crores has already been released for various schemes. This includes Rs 248 crores for student fee reimbursement scheme, Rs 100 crore for MTF scheme, Rs 25 crores for Overseas Scholarship Scheme, Rs 30 crores for Primetric Scholarship and Rs 93.77 crores for Shadimabarak scheme.

He said Minority Welfare Secretary M Danakishor, TSCO Managing Director Shailaja Ramayyar and others participated in the meeting. Every year, the Muslims have provided clothes for the Ramzan festival. The district has 14,500 Ramadan kits. The District Minority Welfare Department has received the Ramadan Kit from Hyderabad. They were allocated for the minority population in the district. The Nizamabad Urban constituency has been allotted 4,000 kms. 4,000 for Bodhan, Rs 2,000 for Arbol, 2,000 for Balchonda and 1500 kit for Nizamabad Rural constituency. The remaining 1,000 will be allotted to Muslims who are in various zones. The kits were sent to the Tahsildar constituency center. Ramzan fasting will start from 17th of this month. Accordingly, there are directions to distribute them locally. Besides local mosque committees, the officers will take up the selection process and deliver kits. The Ramadan gift pack contains sari, pajamas and cemia.
