New Delhi, November 24, (way2newstv.in):Railways have reported Rs 5,936 crore in power bills from April 2015 to October 2017. The total estimated cost of Rs 41,000 crore in the next 10 years. According to the Electricity Act, 2013, users who use more power than one megawatt under open access procedure have the ability to directly charge power from the market. Railways have to supply their power through Open Access Route in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka and Damodar Valley Corporations. The Bihar, UP, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Telangana states have been approved by the Railways Sources mentioned Yi. Through this policy, electricity bills will save Rs 41,000 crore in the next 10 years. The railways said that this would be spent on electrification of the railway network under Mission Electrification.
