Senior BJP leader and former prime minister Vajpayee was admitted at AIIMS hospital in Delhi. He was admitted to the hospital for routine checkup and examinations, the doctors said. The Director of AIs, Pulmonologist Dr. RANI Dip Guliera, will undertake testing for Vajpayee.

For about three decades, Ranjit has been working as a personal physician for Vajpayee. Vajpayee was born in 1924 as a political martyr. He came into politics during the Quit India movement in 1942. Lucknow won from the Lok Sabha seat in 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999, and 1999, winning the MP. The first person from the BJP was Vajpayee. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna award by the Government of India in 2015.
