LETTER TO UNION MINISTERS ON POLAVARAM ARREARS, CHIEF MINISTER CHANDRABABU ORDERED THE OFFICERS

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has ordered the officials to write letters to Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Arun Jaitley for the state government's return on expenditure to the Polavaram project so far. The Polavaram project has been suggested to pressure the center to pay the dues from time to time. Also, the development of colonial development for expatriate families under the 'Rehabilitation-Compensation' package in Ubhaya Godavari districts as part of the Polavaram project is planned to be completed fast. So far, 15 colonies have been developed, and the authorities have explained to the Chief Minister that 38 development colonies are still under development. There are 3,348 exiled families in the 15 colonies already in place. The Chief Minister made it clear that another seven colonies in the tender stage should start from the beginning of next month. Officials told the Chief Minister that 38 percent of the existing colonies, including 7 colonies in the next month, will be provided with 16,687 nursing families.

On Monday, Chief Minister reviewed important projects, including Polavaram, in his office in Secretariat. The excavation works were completed in the last week of 289 cubic meters, while the 28,000 cubic meter spillway, Stilling Basin concrete works were completed and the diaphragm wall was constructed up to 42 meters, officials said. In the Polavaram project, 1,115.59 lakh cubic meters was completed and 795.390 lakhs cubic meters of excavation was completed. Spice Way and Sterling Basin 16.39 lakh cubic meters of concrete works have already been completed and 5.14 lakhs cubic meters of work has been completed. The 1,427-meter long diaphragm wall has been completed to 1,175.6 meters. Radial fabrication has completed completion of 10,450 metric tons for 18,000 metric tons.
